The Napranum Aboriginal Shire Council through its Mayor, councillors and staff provide services to the
residents living in Napranum community.

Napranum, meaning ‘meeting place’, is located 819 kilometers North West of Cairns on the western side of the
Cape York Peninsula.

Napranum is home to approximately 1000 Indigenous people who are descended from as many as 40
different groups from around Cape York Peninsula.
