POSITION SUMMARY

The Napranum Aboriginal Shire Council seeks a highly organised and capable person to join our team in Napranum as an Administration Support Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for providing efficient, effective and compliant support to the Operations Division and the Work Health and Safety Officer in the delivery of key Administrative tasks.

GENERAL DUTIES

  • Provide administrative support to the Operations Division in the delivery of key administrative tasks;

               o  Perform accurate data entry tasks.

               o  Conduct spreadsheet/database maintenance.

               o  Minute/note taking

               o  Email and correspondence follow up/actioning

               o  General administration, filing and archiving inline with records management

  • Provide entry level IT support to Operations team (set up work devices, computers, phones and perform basic device checks before escalating IT requests for support)
  • Extract data and prepare reports, develop presentations, prepare meeting agendas, papers and take minutes.
  • Liaise with Finance Division for work orders, job numbers in line with Operations Division work plans.
  • Provide administrative support to the WHS Officer and assist with the maintenance and update of the WHS management system.
  • Undertake other duties as directed by the Operations Division Manager.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  •   Excellent keyboard and numeracy skills, includingword processing and computer literacy.
  •   High level of writtenand verbal communication skills that resultin effective and appropriate communication with a broad range ofpeople internal and external to the Council.
  •   Demonstrated competence in, report writing andpresentations, creating minutes and agendas.
  •  Demonstrated ability to deal with sensitive,political and confidential duties.
  •  Demonstrated ability to plan work, balance workload,achieve set goals and meet deadlines.
  • Highly developed organisational skillswith the abilityto manage time, work output and priorities and handle a range oftasks with competing priorities.
