The Napranum Aboriginal Shire Council seeks a reliable and motivated person to join our team in Napranum as a Cleaning Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising and assist staff to maintain and clean specified Council areas in buildings and other facilities as directed, to the highest level of cleaning standards and to ensure a clean and tidy environment for Council employees and visitors.


  • To provide supervision, leadership and direction to Council’s Cleaning team.
  • Ensure that all performance of daily safety and maintenance checks and checks of any plant allocated for use are done prior to start of day.
  • Ensure team operates the cleaning equipment in a safe manner as per operating guidelines and ensure they are kept in good working condition.
  • Carry out all works to agreed standards and in accordance with Council’s specifications.
  • Provide and keep updated Safe Work Method Statements applicable to your area of responsibility.
  • Ensure all incidents and near misses are reported to the WHS Officer, and that environmental incidents are reported to the relevant authorities.
  • Complete all Council documentation accurately and timely, including time sheets, leave forms and over time/TOIL requests and documentation.
  • Additional duties as outlined in the Position Description.


  • Relevant experience in cleaning services.
  • Able to work diligently and efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated reliability in a similar role.
  • Reliable and punctual attendance at work
  • Physically able to reach, stretch, bend, and walk during daily routine, with ability to stand for long lengths of time.
  • Organised and able to follow schedule.
  • A current Class “C” Class Drivers Licence (Manual)
  • Ability to obtain and retain a Working with Children Blue Card if required.
  • Agree to a Commonwealth Police Check.
  • Current holds or able to obtain a White Card (Construction Safety Induction).
