Grounds Person - Napranum Early Childhood Centre (NECC)





NECC Nominated Supervisor


To coordinate and deliver grounds maintenance and handyperson services to the Napranum Early Childcare Centre (NECC) during school term. At other times, in particular school holidays, continue general maintenance to NECC facilities and perform adhoc tasks as part of the Parks and Gardens team.


  1. Be familiar with emergency procedures at all work locations.
  2. Report any hazards and risks to your supervisor.
  3. Adhere to, and enforce on any other Council staff or visitors when necessary, all other obligations under the
    Work Health Safety Act 2011 or as amended or replaced.
  4. Maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.
  5. Operate equipment in a safe manner as per operating guidelines and ensure they are kept in good working
    condition. Equipment and tasks include:
  • Mowing / Whipper Snipper
  • Sweeping / Raking / Branch removal
  • Tidying and organising sheds
  • Trimming shrubs
  • Repairing fences / filling in holes / removal of animal and garden waste
  • Ensuring grounds / yards are kept tidy and safe
  • Relocating equipment, assembling furniture


  • Relevant experience in grounds person and handyman services.
  • Able to work diligently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated reliability in a similar role.
  • Reliable and punctual attendance at work.
  • Physically able to reach, stretch, bend, and walk during daily routine, with ability to stand for long lengths of
  • Organized and able to follow a schedule.
  • Ability to obtain and retain a Working with Children Blue Card.
  • Prefer current LR class QLD licence, current “C” class QLD licence as minimum.
