Napranum (Malakoola) Primary Health Care Centre in Napranum offers a multidisciplinary and holistic primary health and acute care service through strong partnerships between nursing staff, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers.
The centre is open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4.30 pm and is closed on weekends and public holidays. After-hours health services are provided at the Weipa Integrated Health Service and through the Queensland Ambulance Service for emergencies.
A purpose-built dental suite provides comprehensive dental care to the local community.

The Napranum PCYC is committed to ongoing consultation with Indigenous Communities, leading to the development and delivery of targeted programs that respond effectively to the needs of the 38 Indigenous communities we work closely with.
PCYC Indigenous programs continue to achieve physical, social and emotional wellbeing outcomes for participants through our flagship programs; the Indigenous Community Sport & Recreation Program (ICSRP) and the Deadly Alive Program (Suicide Prevention).
The overarching philosophy of PCYC’s Indigenous Programs is to provide a coordinated social development platform in partnership with internal and external partners that create opportunities for Indigenous youth and their families to actively participate in meaningful activities that support healthy lifestyles.
Apunipima Health Services represents 17 Cape York communities, providing culturally appropriate, community controlled comprehensive primary health care and advocacy services to 11 communities and advocacy services only to the six Northern Peninsula Area communities.
Apunipima plans to build a community controlled primary health care centre in each of the communities. The next phase of infrastructure development will see clinics built in Kowanyama, Mapoon and Napranum.
Apunipima’s strategic objectives include the creation and coordination of community controlled clinics in all Cape York communities.
